Ben is a staff writer at Risk.net where he writes about credit derivatives and aspects of derivatives markets that impact the buy side. His stories have examined investor responses to changing market structure, impending regulation, and the transition to alternative risk-free rates.

Relying on data to reveal the story and people to fill in the narrative, Ben approaches his coverage by asking what the numbers and the human participants can — and can’t — tell us. While anecdotes are not always representative, data, too, can obfuscate reality in complicated ways; Ben looks to balance the two sources of information and help readers understand the intricacies of the world around them.

Ben's work has appeared in Risk, The Wall Street Journal, the Washington Post, The Times (London), The Real Deal, Norwood News, Inequality.org, as well as the student-publications The Fordham Ram and Fordham Political Review.

Ben received his bachelor's degree from Fordham University, graduating Phi Beta Kappa and majoring in sociology and American studies, and his master's in financial journalism at City, University of London. After growing up on Vermont’s dirt roads, Ben now lives in London and no longer associates “football” with America’s Sunday tradition.
